Canyoneering in Matutinao Valley with its numerous small waterfalls and fresh water pools. Flex your muscles going upstream to the top, free climb up, struggling against the force of the waterfalls and in the cool and clear waters of the river swim against the current. Don't be surprised if you see some loose monkeys, large monitor lizards and rare species of birds amidst unique rock formations and lush greenery. The place has a rich wildlife and vegetation.
Tanawan, Oslob in the south eastern part of Cebu is now famously known as the site for experiencing the rare sight of amazing whale sharks diving in and out and playing in the ocean. It is during the good weather, when the water is clear that these whale sharks come out.
They're huge and massive and are never known to be fiercely violent. So you can swim with them.. subject to government rules ... No feeding No approaching them less than 5 feet. Cameras can't have a flash... but you can swim with them, if you've got what it takes!
The best islands and destination perhaps are on our random lists. These are our ideal destinations: Pandanon Island, Nalusuan Island, Hilutungan Island and Olango Island
Exploring and hopping within these islands could mean an enormous experience to witness and discover nature's ideal gifts to Cebuanos, and don't envy them, because you could still feel those, it is just a matter of going to them physically.
Going to these islands is witnessing scenic beauty, natural cleanness of the seashore, the clear, aqua-tainted waters, the cool breeze, the glorious sunrises and romantic sunsets.
Once you are in Cebu, you can never stop rolling the outdoor adventures you want. You could climb the Osmeña Peak located at Mantalongon, Dalaguete Cebu, and savour the pristine mountain. You could also camp at the Peak. Don't forget to bring jackets as the wind would make you chill at the peak of the mountain.
If you want to experience trekking and climbing solid rock formation that is designed to stretch your ligaments, you would consider the island's well-known site at Cantabaco, Toledo City in Cebu. The condition is appropriately conducive to one of the premier adventures you could do in the island. And what is that, you may ask.
The Kawasan falls consist of three waterfalls, the first one is the largest. The other two are uphill, where water from the first came from them. The Kawasan falls is a "horsetail" (descending water maintains some contact with bedrock) type of waterfall, the area though had some sign of development. But the falls are still there, with its stream much wider you could use raft to float while enjoying the scenery. There are cottages available for rent, mini-restaurants and rooms for overnight stays.
It's at Funstastic island in Medellin, Cebu that one finds a jumping spot at approximately 3 stories high (30 mts). There's another cliff-jumping spot in Malapascua Island that's 50 mts high. Are you bold enough to try this? Have you got the guts to surge off from the cliff top and jump into the water? Me? I'd go dizzy just jumping off from my bed!
